I think "deals" are stupid- especially when "allegiances" and "friendships" can be of rather short duration here.

People who share private information (which they want to remain "secret") with people they do not know are remiss. While it is good to speak out against caddish and boorish behavior, even if the causation for the boorish or caddish behavior may be entangled, I personally think it is nasty to have groups "punishing" people publicly because they do not "like" what other people have done. I think it begins to slide into that enjoyable, and oh so fun, game of "let's pick a designated victim". The forms of this game on SI seem endless. It must be a fun game to play. It is also true that opinions of bad behavior differ. And CH's behavior pales in comparison to other behaviors I have witnessed (IMO only, of course). But naturally opinions will differ on that. It is just too bad people don't feel strong enough to exercise their own consciences individually.
