Rite Aid to Accept Lilly Prescription Benefit Card Starting April 1

Card Helps Low Income Seniors Save Money On Prescription Drugs


CAMP HILL, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 7, 2002--Rite Aid Corporation (NYSE, PCX: RAD) announced today that beginning April 1 it will accept Eli Lilly and Company's LillyAnswers Card at its more than 3,500 pharmacies nationwide.

The company also accepts the GlaxoSmithKline Orange Card, the Pfizer Share Card and the Novartis CareCard at all of its pharmacies.

Rite Aid made the decision to accept the card because the reimbursement structure allows the company to continue to provide valuable pharmacy services to its customers and at the same time lets seniors to use the pharmacist they know and trust.

The LillyAnswers Card allows low-income seniors without prescription drug coverage to pay a flat fee of $12 at all Rite Aid pharmacies for a 30-day supply of any Eli Lilly drug. Eli Lilly medicines include drugs for osteoporosis, diabetes, depression, and schizophrenia.

To qualify for the program patients must either be a senior citizen or disabled under Medicare with no other prescription coverage and meet certain income guidelines. Patients can apply for the benefit card by calling Eli Lilly toll-free at 1-877-RX-LILLY.
