bwanadon,

Au contraire, if that were my purpose, I'd run down the middle of the street streaking.

My purpose is a bit more on topic. Like the wonderment that I have of how so many Americans can think that they are being well served by the present Administration.

Have you perhaps noticed that there are some serious issues being raised here about the budget, foreign adventurism, the state of corruption in Big Business and how this relates to the Bush team.

For instance, we find out today that Enron spent about 3 times as much money lobbying the Bushies in 2001 than had been previously announced:

Enron Corp. belatedly disclosed that it spent nearly $2.5 million lobbying the Bush administration and Congress in the first six months of last year. That was three times more than the energy trader originally acknowledged, and even the corrected figure may be wrong.

The disclosure came in a report filed with the House and Senate. Because the report may still be inaccurate, nobody from the company would step forward to sign it.

What I'm trying to gain from the GOP side of this discussion is a shred of evidence that the Bushies are looking out for the average American in any fashion. I find scant evidence of it, and compelling evidence that special interests are getting a real special deal from this bunch in the White House.

Have you noticed that, too?

Cordially, Ray
