Heheheh... that's funny... So, I guess I should divulge every fact
I know about the company I work for? Get real. You asked a straight
forward question, and I answered it with no ambiguity. I am sorry
that you were irritated by my not explaining all the details.

My response was aimed at killing a false rumor before it caused any
unwarranted panic that SGI might be "grasping for straws" to cut
costs. This whole vacation thing has been done before at SGI, and
is often done at other companies.

I understand your wanting to illustrate the fact that there are often
cases where an employee in a big company isn't always "in touch" with
everything that's going on. I simply wanted to point out that this
was not such a case. (Not that I do know everything that's going on :)
