When the govt spends money, it is not as good for the economy as when a private individual or a motivated business person spends money. In the former case, the buying decision does not impact the person making the decision as much, and is often a worse decision.

If you don't believe me, look at the economies of the old Soviet countries and China, and tell me how allocation of capital by the govt is a good thing. I didn't think I would have to explain this to you; I thought America was built on the principal of this concept.
