On call, company says cap-ex should be $5.5 bln (exactly what it said on Jan 15) vs $7.3 bln in 2001. So a non-issue for semiconductor equipment makers...stock at 32.75.

On call, company says microprocessor business remains in the seasonal pattern it has seen last 3 quarters. The communications business remains soft...The wireless market remains weak, but management is seeing a bit of strength in the server market, a bit more than expected...stock at 32.76.




17:36 ET INTC Intel (32.98 +0.02) -- Update --
On mid-qtr call, company is already into the Q&A session (call started at 5:30 ET) with virtually no information other than what's in the press release....stock at 32.75.
