I haven't seen the actual numbers or % claims from other carriers. I have seen UUNET advertise themselves as the largest internet service provider also, but I haven't actually seen the numbers though. Actually, Sprint International, which is now Global One, came from what used to be Telnet. Sprint also has the largest X.25 packet switched data network in the world. In fact, Alcatel Data Networks which manufactures packet switched equipment is owned 51% by Alcatel and 49% by Sprint.
