Even the purchase of Pet Rocks can boost the economy. GDP is neutral when it comes to evaluating the "quality" of purchasing decisions. Raising the specter of communism doesn't save the argument. One might even argue that wasteful purchasing boosts the economy more, since it leaves the "good" demand unsatisfied. JMHO. Charles Tutt (SM)
