Her commute would be 2.5 hours or more but she comes in very early in the morning with her husband and they both leave early in the afternoon, so they get to use the HOV lanes both ways. Before we got our new house my husband used to commute 1.5 hours each way from the suburbs, but he likes to sleep late and he drives by himself, so can't use the HOV lane. Now it's around half an hour each way.

People who live in smaller towns have less hassle but make less money. Can't have it both ways.
