Everyone has a few quotes that really send you. The sources can be from poems, movies, literature or songs. Lets have 'em.

____________

The above is the thread header.

There, it does not say you cannot comment on the quotes. In fact, I do appreciate those add-ons as it may reveal what's on the poster's mind. I see no problem with that, and that is my opinion.

Therefore, in my eyes, anyone is free to add their own comments if they so desire.

You, or anyone else is free to CLICK NEXT if you do not wish to to read them. No one is forcing you to do so. Besides, I have not seen anything in Raymond's comments that would make me click next.

It may annoy him (twfowler) or you, but it does not annoy me. I do not care what opinion twfowler may have about this or the other, but he takes his annoyance about Raymond's comments and makes them universal and essentially tells him to take them elsewhere... why should that be ? "just because"?

He is quite free to click Next. Period. he has no business telling him or anyone he should do this or the other.

I do not understand your statement (speaking to Raymond) that he has taken away (for you) the enjoyment of this thread. It is up to you to enjoy the thread, not up to Raymond to allow you or not, or stop you or not, from enjoying it. You can put Raymond (or me) on ignore, and you may continue enjoying the thread as much as you did before, Raymond is simply expressing a view. He is not IMPOSING it.

And THAT is the difference, and the reason of my response you are addressing. In addition, I am merely giving him a spoonful of his own medicine.

Twfolwer can express his views all he wants, so long so he does not attempt to impose his views on others.

We will never agree on this, so I suggest you do the following:

1. ignore me
2. ask the thread master to boot me (and those he objects to)

Then, you will achieve that the censorship imposed will guarantee your continued enjoyment of this thread, without the need for you to "click next." (Not to mention the fact that re-inforces twfowler's imposition of his own opinion on others.)

So be my guest, do what you need to do.
