I tried the "close" trick you suggested but Minesweeper doesn't remember it and pops back up to the top as before. I also tried Joe B's idea to shut it down right away...same result.

It's funny how little things like this make you crazy! The good news, of course, is that I now know how the "move" function works..<ggg>
