Anyone,

Listened to FOX this morning and Steve Forbes was saying if Gold kept trading between $290 and $325 we will know that Greenspan has been successful. He felt that if it traded below or above these levels our monetary policy is in trouble. I understand the problem of trading above $325, but do not understand the problem with trading below $290. Anyone have any thoughts on where he is coming from?

Jimmy Rogers is buying Steel companies. He is great - he does not support the protectionist policy - but he has this problem of buying low and selling high - obviously he believes folks will pile into the few companies that are left. Anyone have any ideas who will benefit from this game? The only steel company I have on my radar screen is X, but there must be other steel companies in this country that are in better shape than this one.

Oh, Jimmy is also buying South American beer companies. <g>

Joan
