The power of America has always been her Christian spirit of love, justice and forgiveness. Evil doers have to be punished, but no pleasure should come from the terror that has to be used to punish these evil doers. Justice and mercy should be balanced with a person touch. Demand the same justice from those that wrong you that you would want God to demand for your wrong doings. Most men prefer Mercy for themselves when they do wrong, but justice for others when they do wrong. Civil leaders have the difficult and awesome responsibility of punishing evil doers, but not to have enjoyment in doing it. In the heart, forgiveness and mercy must reign supreme. Christians people should never be motivated with the harsh vengeance of the Old Covenant but with the mercy and love of Christ in the New!
