Ted, <You don't think that that issue went away because of 9/11........it just went underground for a while and now is back.>

The analogy was very inappropriate, to put it mildly. To read about people clapping when Baldwin mentioned it is sickening to me.

Ten, I am not sure why that sickens you.....A. Baldwin is pretty egotistical and that's why he is capable of bringing the subject to a FL. audience. However, many people including myself, were sickened by what happened in FL during the national election as we should all be whether we voted for Bush or for Gore. It undermined one of the fundamental tenets of democracy and it was not one of our finest hours. And what happened in the Sup. Ct was even worse.....its the only major institution in this land that has been mostly above partisan bias............but that does not appear to have been the case in Nov/Dec. 2000.

<I suspect he's getting ready to run for office in NYC.>

He might want to avoid visiting Ground Zero, any of the victims' families, or members of NYPD or FDNY. Come to think of it, he might want to avoid NYC altogether.

He already lives there. And I don't think the analogy is a bad one. The WTC was singled out for attack because it represents the US's commercial might to the world. By hitting the towers with our own planes made it a significant blow, of course more figurative than real, to that commercial supremacy.

Well, for those who admire and respect our democracy, what happened in FL and the subsequent interference by the Sup. Ct. was a figurative blow against our democracy. I know some people do not want to believe that but its true....and history will make that point very clear. And its my personal belief that we will pay a stern price at some future point for those misdeeds.
