Semiconductor sales should be the key to stock prices, but it hasn't been. Speculation has been. Amat is a good stock to buy puts on. Finally, some good sales numbers. I was starting to think this year would pose another sales decline. Revenues for most chip companies still aren't reflected in their stock prices, stock prices for semis should overall be at least 20% lower, at least the sox should. This is on an earnings basis by subtracting the 10%+ revenue from the average chip company, that may be around a 20% drop in earnings. yet the sox index is near a record high, while it should be 20% lower than it is. Speculation has taken control of the market, we know what happens when fear takes control.
