Well, the tariff on Steel was totally stupid. The steel industry in the US is dead. Reagan was the one who needed to do something twenty years ago, like create massive investment tax credits for steel, but he was too busy building up the DOD. The problem with those tariffs are that they wreck the WTO agreements and result in every other country doing likewise. It creates nationalism, isolationism and WAR!!!!! In our case it was done on a corpse, the US Steel Industry!
