Internet Company Hires Employee

Chicago, Ill. (SatireWire.com) — A Chicago-based Internet company startled analysts and industry observers alike today by announcing it had hired an employee, noting it was the first time in recent memory a dot-com had actually increased staff.

Analysts immediately heralded the move by food site OmniCaterer.com as a sign that dot-coms have turned the corner, and wondered aloud if the phenomenal growth of 1998-1999 was on the way back.

"This move makes me wonder if the phenomenal growth of 1998-1999 is on the way back," said analyst Bill Bingham of Morgan Stanley. "But I'll have to wait to make sure it's back before I predict that it will come back."
