"No one really knows, there is no proof, only faith! We have the documented historical record that this FAITH is built upon. The New Testament contains contemporary eyewitness documents by the men who saw and heard! If we cannot trust eyewitness historical documents, then we are limited to only believe and discuss our own generation. History allows us to know the past! Is it only faith to believe that Alexander the Great, Hannibal, King Solomon, George Washington existed and performed the deed they did? No, it is both faith and fact. Faith is certainly part of the formula, but the faith is based upon accepting historical records as reasonably accurate accounts of the past. The New Testament is a collection of these historical records written by men who knew Jesus personally or who, in the case of Paul, got his information from those who knew Jesus personally in the flesh. These eyewitnesses were willing to die rather that refute their eyewitness accounts, and many of them were killed for preaching the truth. The Christians faith is based upon solid historical evidence.
