I think it's best for politicians to leave the consideration of evil to theologians and concentrate on doing what they're paid to do - avoiding war, fighting disease, feeding the multitudes, educating children.
Questionable list.
avoiding war Sometimes you gotta fight and politicos are paid to head the effort.
fighting disease Government has a role, but so does the private sector.
feeding the multitudes That's a private sector function. Governemnt may provide part of infrastructure.
educating children We might just be better off if that were too.

I thought you said you were Libertarian.
