What is IE 4 and 5 going to require for effectively using of the Internet?

qdog, I know your addressing this to Carlos, but I would like to ask what you mean by this? I don't think it's just MSFT's appetite for system resources, seem's to me all vendors are doing this.

You mention working in telecommunications. Tell me what the RBOC's are doing to help bandwith? They really screwed up ISDN, what are they going to do with xDSL? What will happen if Satellite really takes off in several years and all those millions of second phone lines that have been installed for internet access are no longer needed? Not sure if you work for an RBOC, but IMO the RBOC's could be in trouble down the road. Also what have they been doing to improve net access in terms of wire? The ancient copper wire running into our homes is obviously outdated for the modern net. I think Chairman Bill was very smart to invest in Satellite technology. We also need improvements in router and switching technologies. The current router software (CSCO etc) need's improvement, just look at the many, recent net outages. Also with the net's explosive growth many web sites have not been able to keep up with the load. SI is one example, even though they are doing a good job this site can get quite slow. I'm curious to know what my browser has to with that or net slowness in general?
