I agree w/AA that you & Bobcor have done a nice job with the ideological and practical problems confronting "investors" during bullish rallies in bloated equity markets. I'm also pleased that this has been debated amicably.

Question: Could you please explain or provide links regarding the inflation protected treasuries being a better play then international bonds. I presume you are referring to "TIPS". I started watching these TIPS last Fall after reading about them in an article by Jim Grant but have noticed that they get whacked when yields move up (please correct me here if I am wrong):

Furthermore, high quality international bond funds do appear to be in a long-term basing pattern, in contrast to the US dollar which appears to be in a topping pattern:

I appreciate your astute comments on this thread and am just asking because I'm a humble geek who gets off on stuff like the complicated interactions between (and manipulation of) currencies, gold, equities and bonds ;~). I don't have any positions in these markets to defend, so my mind is open and waiting.
