Brooks Automation Names Two New Executives
Peter Frasso and Kay Kendall strengthen corporate initiatives in operational excellence.
CHELMSFORD, Mass., March 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/-- Brooks Automation, Inc. (Nasdaq: BRKS - news), a leading supplier of tool and factory automation solutions for the global semiconductor and related industries, today announced that two key industry executives have joined the Company to fill newly-created positions. Peter J. Frasso assumes the role of Vice- President of Business Integration, and Kay Kendall the position of Vice- President of Corporate Quality. Prior to joining Brooks, Mr. Frasso was responsible for worldwide manufacturing operations as executive vice president and managing director of LightPointe Europe GmbH, while Ms. Kendall served as the Vice-President of Quality at Asyst Technologies.

Previous to LightPointe, Mr. Frasso was Vice-President and General Manager of Varian's Vacuum Products Division. From 1992 to 1997, Mr. Frasso and his team conducted a major turn-around of the business, resulting in a number of industry awards including the Massachusetts Quality Award for the division, an Industry Week award for being one of the 25 best plants in North America, selection for a Malcolm Baldrige site visit and in 1997 the division was named Industry Week's Best Plant in America. Mr. Frasso holds a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University. He has more than 30 years of experience in general management, marketing, manufacturing and product development.
Prior to her position at Asyst, Ms. Kendall spent 15 years leading large- scale change initiatives and quality systems implementation at Honeywell International, Inc. (formerly Allied Signal Aerospace). She is a certified Six Sigma Champion and Green Belt, and has completed her sixth year as a Senior Examiner for the Malcolm Balridge National Quality Program. In 2001, she was appointed to a 3-year term as a judge for the California Award for Performance Excellence (CAPE). Ms. Kendall holds a B.S. from Purdue University and an MBA from the University of Arizona Eller School of Business.
