You're living in a pipe dream.

One example is the current Israelis/Palestinian conflict. There will be no peace until the US is willing to kick both parties in the nuts. That means no more Palestinians supporting terrorists and no more Israelis spreading into the disputed territories like a cancer. But there is political pressure to be soft to both, and so, nothing is accomplished. And every day, three Palestinians and one Israeli die for no reason.
