what would you guage our response to this will be if it is true?

our current policy is to leave no man behind.

i think we are already seeing our response to saddam. the latest over the weekend was to threaten to nuke him. something is going to pop here...i think cheney is out there to line up all of our pins. clearly we have intel on iraq and it is not good news.

W is not the empty threat kind of guy. i think he is going to respond to every terrorist inspired abuse of Americans. and he has clearly stated he is not going to wait to get hit before responding. iraq has already been identified publicly as a terrorist state...they have a problem.

i have no idea how much bloodshed will be required to end this...but it seems it is going to require a lot. the casualty warnings we are getting from our leaders tell me that they have some large targets to go after.

i am starting to have some concerns about controlling this from both sides. imo this could easily erupt into a much larger and broader conflict with many fronts. the smartest thing we did was get as many friendly countries as possible involved with troops. and we have the richest nations involved on our side. they now have something at stake too. they now have something valuable to lose including honor.

there are some formidable opponents out there... china, n korea,...a unified(for convenience) iran and iraq. and we cannot underestimate the ability of a very small force to shut our country down...look what 19 determined guys did on 9/11....multiply that x50....and it is only 950 men. that happens to be the latest estimate of the number of dedicated and fully trained and committed terrorists in America today. imagine 9/11 x50.

the next strike on our homeland is really going to change America...the effects of the last one are already wearing off...the next set of scars will last much longer.

at the individual citizen level, we are spending too much time gawking at 6 month old pictures and mourning and not enough time getting ourselves and our families into a position to survive. the old saying that
"the biggest mistake is to do nothing because you can only do a little"
keeps ringing between my ears. i believe that most Americans are presently making the mistake of doing nothing to prepare their families to survive.
that will change after the next attack.
