This has gotta hurt Alcatel...Jeff Vayda SES Global Cancels Two More Satellite Orders (Space News Business Report via space.com, 03-07-02) SES Global has canceled two more satellites that had been in construction at Alcatel Space of Paris. SES Global Chairman Romain Bausch said in an interview that the two satellites - GE 3i and GE 4i - were intended for trans-Atlantic Internet trunking and were no longer considered central to SES Global’s business. The decision comes four months after SES canceled two other satellites on order from Alcatel, GE 2E and GE 3E. All four satellites had been ordered by GE American Communications of Princeton, N.J., before that company was sold to SES in mid-2001 to become part of SES Global.
