KTF and AirPrime Partner to Deliver 3G Data Solutions for Notebook Computers

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 11, 2002--

KTF Subscribers To Benefit from High-Speed Wireless Internet Access Via AirPrime's PC5230 Wireless PC Card on One of the World's First 1xEV-DO 3G Wireless Networks

AirPrime Inc., a leading provider of CDMA wireless access solutions for the OEM market, and KTF, a subsidiary of Korea Telecom and Korea's second largest wireless network operator, today announced that AirPrime's PC5230 wireless PC Card will be available to mobile Internet users on KTF's 1xEV-DO 3G wireless network, after the network commercially launches in May 2002.

AirPrime's wireless PC Card will allow KTF subscribers to access e-mail, corporate networks and Internet sites and services from any notebook computer containing a PC Card slot at data speeds of up to 2.4 Mbps.

"We are pleased to offer our customers AirPrime's wireless PC Card on our soon-to-be-launched 1xEV-DO network throughout Korea," said Gioon Moon, vice president of 3G Business Development Division, KTF. "We believe that AirPrime's PC Card, combined with our 3G wireless network, is an ideal solution for mobile professionals who want high-speed access to Internet content and services without being tethered to a wired modem."

"By providing a PC Card for KTF, one of the first operators in the world to deploy a 1xEV-DO network, AirPrime will prove its leadership in CDMA technology and its capability to meet aggressive schedules for next-generation network launches worldwide," said Anthony Gioeli, president of AirPrime. "Our PC Card will allow KTF customers to be among the first in the world to experience the advantages of 1xEV-DO high-speed data from their notebook computers."

The PC5230, a member of AirPrime's PC5200 family of PC Cards, is a PCMCIA Type II PC Card, which is compatible with most models of notebook computers. Designed for operation in the 1800 MHz frequency band, AirPrime's 1xEV-DO PC Card includes a proprietary dual-antenna design for maximizing coverage, data rate transfer speeds and battery life of the notebook computer.

The PC Card is also compatible with most Microsoft operating systems. As AirPrime's first international customer for its 1xEV-DO PC Card, KTF is also the world's first carrier to market with a 1xEV-DO PC Card with dual antennas.
