I'm sorry, but any argument about software availability that ignores Word and PowerPoint and focuses on SoftImage is a pointless argument. There are at least a million Word users for every SoftImage user.

Marketshare is only one metric. Market size is another. 99% of a $1M market is less than 1% of a $1B market. To bring back everyone's favorite car analogy, there are plenty of folks making good coin in BMW parts and customization market.

The consequence of Adobe not continuing support of Photoshop is that Adobe would lose revenue and earnings and PO a whole lot of (soon to be ex) customers.

BTW, isn't Avid about to renew Mac support? Seems I heard somewhere they're about to release an OSX version.
