I'm amazed that DRAM makers have that strong pricing power. IMHO PC makers can easily drop MB per box to contain this. In my 20+ years using computers this is first time that mainstream computers have more DRAM than is needed. All that with very thin margins on PCs.
Was there much DRAM capacity taken offline last year?
