OT-
heehee I tend to agree with you ... I read a recent article on msnbc.com and it intrigued me none the less ...

The article was about the U.S's tactics when it comes to extraditing people and 'questioning' them. Often times the gov. or whomever is in charge of seeking out 'uncouth' people and questioning them tells a certain country "we want this guy now hand him over". These means are different then the 'normal' means of obtaining an individual; because the U.S. has this person sent to a different country ie Egypt was the example given and in that country this individual is tortured until he gives up all his information. This torture involves any means necessary ie threatening his family; etc etc ... The reason given that the U.S. does this is because we would draw too much flak doing it in the united states so perhaps people wont know about it as much if we do it elsewhere or they might not care as much; ie so many groups here that oppose this thing or that.

anyway, the reason I am reiterating this article here is because I think people in the U.S. often have a 'girl skipping through the flower garden' view of the united state's moral policies. The incident with the US reporter Pearl; while was tragic, and I Do not agree with what that group did to this individual; I some how dont find that a whole lot different then the united states torturing a person to make them talk.
