<< GW, wasn't DIVX that DVD-type technology that Circuit City was pushing? Back in 97 (I think), I was looking to get my first DVD player and they tried to get me to buy a DVD player with DIVX capabilities. You plugged the player into a modem and downloaded the movie. Think it lasted a few days.
Then again, I could have the wrong technology entirely.

You are currect that DIVX was that ciruit city technology that basically went away. However this is a different divx all together. I believe it's some type of compressor for mpeg movies or at least you need a divx decoder to view some mpegs on the internet. It may also be popular with people making their own movies, I'm not really sure.
