TW - 5th post the VIX crusade, it is just a mix of options Someone posted that it doesn't work if:- a. Too many people watch it and b. Too many people start trading based upon it. That sounds like much more than a dumb set of options. It sounds to me like it has intelligent life. After all how does it know how many people are watching it. Worse still how can any of us be expected to know if it knows that we are watching it. Does it ever say how many people constitutes "too many"? And how does one know when it has decided not to reveal the future to us? No this can't be just a simple collection of options. Surely all those who follow VIX aren't just following yet another index based on historical trades.
