Jay, I wonder if because the bank guarantees are running out, people are pulling some money out of the bank, buying shares in the Nikkei [hence the price rise by 20%]. The banks sell their shares to balance the books. All is hunky dory in Japan! Hey Presto, Japan doesn't implode. Mqurice
