Last quarter (calendar Q2 '97), an LSI analyst made "visionary negative comments" on LSI's Q3. Now that we are in Q3, it also makes sense to look similarly at Q4. And, Q4 looks good for many of the semi companies, with new Intel chips coming out (laptop chips, et. al), DVD making a debut, and generally strong demand in the US and abroad.

Bottom line: keeping consistent with the way we look at things, now is the time to look ahead to Q4. And that quarter looks good from here from a fundamental standpoint. The recent chain of strong SIA numbers should improve even further.
