Is it just me, or did those who oppose the deal already sell their shares? It's like a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation if you hold a significant amount of HP and/or Compaq, but you don't want the deal to go through.

Tenchusatsu, its the most politicized merger I have ever seen........and now I think I understand why. Phil Condit of Boeing is involved. He is the major a-hole who moved Boeing's headquarters to Chicago and then had the unmitigated gall to say he loves Seattle and can't wait to move back after he retires. I have my white sheet and torch ready for his return. ;~))

As for HWP/CPQ, I thought Calpers had struck a nearly fatal blow to the deal. Frankly, I don't have a clue any more if its a good or bad thing.
