Back in the 80's, Reagan gave aid to those who would be bin Laden's allies in the 90's. Some of them became bin Laden's allies, some his enemies. We where giving aid to anyone who was fighting the Soviets and in the process helped collapse the Soviet empire. Tim, we're famous for that.........giving aid to anyone who hates who we hate at the moment even if their last name is Hitler. The Taliban still have some of the weapons we gave to them back in the 80s. We might consider doing background checks on everyone we decide to help out. ted
