I will defer the actual dates to the wireless historians but I am quite certain that a chain of cdma carriers had signed roaming agreements from Japan to Korea to China to US a number of months ago.

I also thought there was a report on this GSM/CDMA roaming between China and Korea, requiring the use of a R-UIM card. In essence, Korean subscribers need a new handset for it to happen.
