SS, Can you claify your reference to MSFT? Since they invested $1 billion in Comcast I'm not sure I understand why you think they are challenging the technology. Are you talking about the parallel Internet piece? I think the investment speaks pretty loudly about what Gates thinks the broadband technology (or at least a major one) of the future is going to be (HFC).
