"It's because they don't have anything more serious to whine about in their efforts to end prudent husbandry of the resources of the West on behalf of the Rape & Pillage Crowd"

It IS serious when Federal employees LIE about something that effects (or could effect) private property owners the uses for public lands. Your contention that people who don't share your view that this type of lying and cheating is no big deal are part of the "Rape and Pillage Crowd" shows your prejudice in this regard. If it is liberal, then it is ok to lie. Totally bunk, but does explain why Clinton's foibles are ok to most libs, where a Packwood's are not. Hypocrits and liars. Not who I want running the country.

"If he were honest, how come the GAO has had to sue the Administration for the first time in history to get some rather tame information?"

You make assumptions based on your belief that he is a liar. An incorrect assumption at that. The administration is using this case as a precedent that will define the limits of what the GAO is and is not entitled to do. In this case they (GAO) want to see who they met with, when they met and what the topics were (reduced request from earlier when they wanted everything) even though THERE HAS BEEN NO WRONG DOING. Do you feel that everything the President and VP discuss should be available to the entire country. When there has been wrong doing I can see that. When there is NO EVIDENCE of any wrong doing, then it is one of the most UN-AMERICAN things the gov't could do. Shameless cowards if you ask me. And you sight it as EVIDENCE of Bush's dishonesty. And at the same time say it is no big deal to CORRUPT a government study for POLITICAL purposes. You provide an excelent example of why I feel many dems are a danger to opur country.

"So far, all we've gotten out of Bush is "happy talk" about what he might or might not do"

I heard some pretty straightforward recommendations as to disclosures and accounting practices that could make this type of rip off much more difficult. Maybe you should see if he can get them in place before you judge him as a liar. It is up to the justice department to prosecute the criminals, and last time I checked people were innocent until proven guilty in this country. As long as they are liberal I guess.

As I said, you seem smart. But you also seem dishonest and hypocritical in your positions.
