Elmer, Re: "Things have really changed over the last two years. AMD is all mouth while Intel is hitting on all cylinders. The .13u process is extremely healthy and as you can see the performance curve is well ahead of schedule. A month ago Intel's stretch goal was to hit 3GHz by EOY. Now they flatly state they will exceed it before EOY. This is a company back in the groove."

Also, they've demonstrated SRAM cells at 90nm that are smaller than anyone else in the industry (including TSMC's 90nm process), proving that they are way ahead of their competitors in getting this technology into HVM. They've launched multiple proliferations of their X-Scale design, going into Cell Phones, PDAs, Communications Equipment, Programmable Networks, and even Optical Infrastructure. They've launched the 2-way Prestonia based Xeon and Plumas chipset to take back market share from Serverworks. They've finally launched Xeon MP, and multiple OEMs are already are showcasing systems, as well as breaking every high end benchmark record out there for the 4-way space. 300mm wafer production has started, which, when ramped, will offer Intel a sizable cost savings. And, as you've said, they are ramping .13u and are now claiming to have >3GHz CPUs by the end of the year.

I agree. Intel is back in the grove, and looking like far more of an attractive investment.
