It looks very much like SledgeHammer: - on chip memory controller - built in inter-processor links - 4 - built in links for I/O - gluless SMP - bigger L2 cache - 1.75MB - Similar release schedule - similar SPECint performance (Hammer may be better) Joe, EV7 is predicting 804 SPECint. That number will be toast any day now. Unless Hammer posts a far higher SPECint score it will be toast too. Again I say, I am not one of those who buys AMD's claims of Hammer setting the performance standard and when you think about it, just what is AMD going to claim at this point? "Wait another year for mediocre performance" won't keep any OEMs on the edge of their chairs. Whether or not Hammer will live up to the hype is unknown but either way AMD has no choice but to hype it to the limit now. My guess is it won't. EP
