It's always a possibility, but I would think that Intel learned their lesson the last time. At the very least, Linux compiling is probably a regular test for any new stepping, no matter how minor the change is.

Personally, though, I think that you are continuing to underestimate Intel's .13u process. It seems capable of delivering far greater speeds than anyone has predicted.
