You state "Why do Jews need a homeland anyway?"

Look through history. Jews have been murdered for being Jews from before the Inquisition, through the Holocaust and up to now (look at Daniel Pearl). Jews need a homeland so what happened in the Holocaust will never happen again...and yes, I absolutely believe unchecked, something like this could happen to Jews all over again. No Jew living in 1920s Germany would have believed in a decade they would be mass murdered in a western society. It happened. nuff said...
