I have not been following the case at all. The thought of what she did is too disturbing to me, and I really had no interest in the day-to-day machinations of the trial.

I did recently read an article about the Yates family in one of the news magazines, and it was clear that Andrea Yates was a very seriously ill woman. Whether that equates into knowing right from wrong at the time of the murders has now been settled by the jury, which heard all the evidence. It was clear from the article that a lot of people, including her treating psychiatrists and her husband dropped the ball and could have done more to prevent this.

All in all, it's a terribly tragic story.
