CC appears to have been grim from CBS-MW <<Comverse, which said its earnings, excluding nonrecurring charges, fell sharply amid pressure from the hard business climate facing telecommunications companies, dropped to $13 from Tuesday's close of $15.85.

It also said it sees revenues of about $220 million in its current fiscal first-quarter, and expects to post a loss of 6 cents a share in the quarter as it suffers from lower capital spending by telecommunications customers.>> end quote
