8:50AM: The pre-market bias has taken a turn for the worse this morning in the wake of the unexpected weakness in the Retail Sales data. The headline figure was reported at 0.3% vs the consensus of 0.9% while the core number, excluding autos was up 0.2% vs the consensus of 0.5%. Though this is only one weak report after a series of stronger than expected reports, the sales data has triggered some concerns that there won't be any follow through from consumers in this recovery. The S&P 500 futures are now 1.3 points below fair value, the Nasdaq 100 futures are 18.50 points below fair value while the Nasdaq 100 PMI is down 13.62 points.
