Even now, about 95% of people who want jobs have jobs. Since you are the one who advocates a change in policy, i.e. more protectionist laws, it is up you to prove your policy will improve on that.

You make a good emotional argument, but so did the protectionists in the 30's. And no analysis can show they did anything except make things MUCH worse.
