Computer Sciences Corporation and Citrix Team to Speed Worldwide Application Delivery
Leading Consulting and IT Services Provider Leverages Citrix Technology to Simplify Application Delivery to Outsourcing Clients, Reinsurance Software Customers and Enterprise Users
biz.yahoo.com
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 13, 2002-- Citrix Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:CTXS), a global leader in application serving and portal software and services, today announced a global multifaceted agreement with Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE:CSC), a leading consulting and IT services firm. The key components of the licensing agreement will enable CSC to:

-- Incorporate Citrix(R) MetaFrame(R) application serving
software as part of CSC's application outsourcing solution for
its many customers across a number of vertical industries.
-- Embed MetaFrame into CSC's leading reinsurance administration
software, SICS/nt.
-- Deploy MetaFrame internally across CSC's organization to
facilitate the delivery of business applications to enterprise
users.

By incorporating Citrix MetaFrame as part of its application outsourcing solutions, CSC will provide customers worldwide with improved application access and performance from any location. In addition, the centralized administration and deployment capabilities of MetaFrame allow CSC to more effectively manage central data centers for outsourcing customers and reduce the cost of IT administration and support.

CSC will also integrate MetaFrame software into its leading reinsurance administration software, SICS/nt, which offers client-centered functionality in a fully integrated and user-friendly package for property, casualty and life reinsurance professionals. As a result, CSC will be able to provide clients with a more efficient reinsurance solution. Since all application processing is maintained on the server, the Citrix model provides fast, secure application access to users without the need to expand bandwidth capacity.

Through its deployment of MetaFrame to users across its own global enterprise in conjunction with a number of internal applications, CSC will offer internal staff expanded and more efficient access. CSC's MetaFrame deployment will enable users to quickly and reliably access business-critical information directly from their desktops, increasing staff productivity.

``By investing in Citrix technology to speed the delivery of our applications and services, we are strengthening our commitment to providing customers with unique, cost-effective solutions tailored to their individual needs. Citrix also expands the application delivery and management capacities of our outsourcing support services,'' said John D. Butch, global director of CSC's Distributed, Collaborative, eInfrastructure Services group.

``Our relationship with CSC enables a more complete solution for customers,'' said Roger Rose, vice president, corporate development, global enterprise alliances for Citrix. ``Citrix is all about providing customers with virtual access to applications and data. CSC is focused on providing application software that's simple to use but has extremely rich functionality. Melding the two offers customers greater value by providing access to those applications regardless of location, device or network.''
