Some of the answer is a guarded secret by certain companies but I would surmise that the three types of devices mentioned above would range 16-26 layers depending on technology used with logic taking the lowest level of layers. Keep in mind that two DRAM producers could conceivably compete with each other in the market and have a different number of litho levels based on design.

Since you posed the question, I think I should retract the 26 number and replace it with 21 as a more conservative assumption. Thanks for the question since it appears my number is more aggressive than it should be. It must have been the rays from Mars.<G>

PS-I will try to report back some layer figures when I return. I will call a few friends and do a minor survey. Things get muddied when you consider multi-layer metallization for shrinking die size and added functionality (analog, etc) that add implant layers.
