have not added to ANN; its a full position and i'm not going to press my bet on this one without an identifiable "event" out there. as far as consumers caving, frankly i have no idea. i find it hard to believe they have any money left, yet when i walk by the PF Changs near my home every night its a line to get in. the Best Buy (in Braintree, MA) parking lot was full at 10:30 AM last Saturday. so i'm not taking any big short position in retail; i'll just continue shorting the bad companies that don't earn their cost of capital and will leave the good companies (BBBY, BBY, WSM, WFMI) to trade wherever the heck they want to trade. good job on Comverse. i wasn't as clever with my entry, but frankly at these prices i'm not thinking flip (not with $1.9 billion in cash and a 1.5% note that's not due 'til '05). Cheers
