<No, pixilated video and cyber cosmic phone will not do; only 3D eye ball to eye ball in 3D.>
Jay, pixilated means crazy, as in "The Pixilated Parrot", where I learned the word, many decades ago, in a Carl Barks Donald Duck comic.
Pixelated means "made up of pixels", as seen on your screen.
But InViso, Microvision [sad graph siliconinvestor.com ] and others are trying to extend our optic nerves to many thousands of kilometres so we can 'be there' in 3D. Retinal scans will make images three dimensional and real. With fibre, they can be real-time too.
But there's an inherent problem in that if two people talk, wearing 3D goggles, there will be none of the normal advantage of 'being there'. It'll be like talking to somebody with reflecting sunglasses. So, until they get 'in-the-eye' retina scans or something else to replace the retina - say a digital camera in each eye with some connection to the optic nerves [which will take quite a lot of creativity and I don't think we'll be seeing that in the next decade or two], we'll need the direct personal contact to enjoy 3D.
In the meantime, we can watch pixelated people doing pixilated things. There is no shortage of us. Watch anyone for a day or so and pixilation will show through the smooth exterior of calm demeanour.
More importantly, would you please tell me how do you know this; <The locals were not buying shares. It was the gaijins, speculating for the umpteenth time in 12 years. The locals were busy buying gold and opening new bank accounts; all with what cash they already have, and do not see how to earn more.>
Japanese haven't bought a lot of gold, if I remember the figure from a couple of weeks ago correctly. I believe there has been a lot of multiple bank account opening to avoid the deposit protection limit. I doubt that gaijin were responsible for much of the Nikkei rise from 9500 to 11500.
Happy travels, Mqurice
PS: Yes, it's only fun to gloat over having lost less than you if you also enjoy the gloating - but it's about as funny as enjoying that I have lost only a finger while you lost a whole arm [on Global Crossing]. It will be much more fun when there are actually Gloatable Gains [GG]. |
